Customer interaction is portrayed including the recommendation to replace all belts and hose at the same time. The Multi-Rib cd features only that material from the Belt and Hose Clinic which pertains specifically to multi-rib belt technology. It presents the typical signs of wear and possible failure modes, along with detailed instructions on multi-rib removal and replacement for both “bolt-down” and automatic tensioner applications.

How Automotive Belts are Made
This program visits a typical Dayco belt manufacturing facility to follow the complete process of belt building, starting with raw materials preparation, then sleeve build-up with layers of rubber, fabric and cord, followed by the sleeve curing process and finally, belt cutting and inspection. See how an automotive hose is made. The process starts with the extruding of a tube of rubber for the inside of the hose, then knitting the polyester reinforcement around the tube, which is then covered by a rubber layer for the outside of the hose. This “green” hose is then cut to length, forced onto mandrels to form the required bend configurations, then cured in room-sized autoclaves.
